What does this app do?

Mapped adds an interactive store locator map to your Shopify storefront. Customers can search for nearby locations, filter by retailer, and get directions — all from an embedded map block in your theme.

Do I need any coding knowledge?

No. The map is added as a theme app block through the Shopify theme editor. All settings — colors, view mode, map style, and more — are configurable without touching any code.

How do I add locations?

You can add locations one-by-one through the admin interface or bulk import them via CSV. Each location supports a name, address, phone, email, hours, and a retailer logo.

What is the Geocode button?

When adding a location, enter an address and click Geocode to automatically fill in the latitude and longitude coordinates. This ensures your pins appear in the correct spot on the map.

What are retailer logos?

Retailer logos are brand images that appear as map pin markers instead of generic pins. Upload logos in the Logos tab, then assign them to locations. They also power the filter chips so customers can filter locations by brand.

What are the view mode presets?

There are three presets: Full (search bar + filter chips + sidebar list + map), Compact (search bar + filter chips + map), and Minimal (filter chips + map only). Choose the one that fits your store layout in the theme editor.

Where is my data stored?

All location data is stored as Shopify metaobjects inside your own Shopify store. There is no external database. Your data stays within Shopify's infrastructure at all times.

Does the app collect customer data?

No. The app only stores location information that merchants enter. It does not collect, store, or process any customer personal information.

Can customers get directions to a store?

Yes. Each location popup includes a "Get Directions" button that opens Google Maps with the location's coordinates.

Does the map work on mobile?

Yes. The map is fully responsive. On smaller screens, the sidebar list moves below the map automatically. Touch gestures for zoom and pan are supported.

What map styles are available?

Four styles: Streets, Light, Dark, and Satellite. Select your preferred style in the theme editor block settings.

What happens to my data if I uninstall?

Your location metaobjects remain in your Shopify store. Session data on our servers is deleted. You can reinstall at any time and your locations will still be there.
